Oh what a magical story! The fun of the funfair however has a dark side….children are disappearing when riding a colourful and mystical carousel. One horse in particular seems to be the focus of the mystery…

Imagine yourself at such a funfair. Remember the lights, the smell of the paint, the colours of the fantastic wooden animals which dance around in a circular swirl….

The novel is set in Paris, Chicago and Canvey Island but the funfair park in Chicago is fictional….The Silver Kingdom is sadly not real….or is it…..?

Ironically, I personally have never been a fan of funfairs, circuses and the like as I always found them quite creepy as a child. However, I LOVE books about them as they are mysterious, fun and dark all at once. The atmosphere in this book is full of tension, darkness, plinky-plonk music and wooden painted animals with frozen faces….ingredients set to be an explosive mix. Add missing children and you have yourself a crime mystery novel with a very unique, fantasy/supernatural premise…
