Christmas time in the Swedish bookstores

Have yourself a very Swedish BookChristmas  – There’s lots happening in Stockholm’s bookstores at the moment as Sweden gears up for Christmas. The Christmas magic is alive and well in the book world here…

Just look at the English Bookshop festive windows…

And never mind the cancelled book events. Norstedts has quite cleverly held an online shopping event and guess who was in the front of the queue! haha

Norstedts shopping evening!

This was so cool!  Dangerous for bookworms…….

You might be surprised to hear that I didn’t buy anything but I did write a wishlist for about a hundred of the ones I saw both on the table and behind the presenters.

They chatted like old friends and spoke about the books and discussed them in a really fun way. It was like meeting your friends for coffee and having a natter. Very natural and inviting. I of course sat with a cuppa watching it all…

Reading in the starlight with a giant Christmas tree bearing giant tinsel not far away….

I couldn’t believe you could get tinsel this big. I’ve never actually seen much in Sweden as it’s normally candles and baubles you get here so this was a nice change. The way it blew in the wind and reflected off the lights and the water, it looked like twinkling lights from a distance so it was really lovely …

There’s more Swedish Christmas joy where these came from. Stay tuned for more festive fun! More books too in more bookish windows.
