The (Bloody) Scotland of Craig Robertson

With Bloody Scotland fast approaching, why not look at the series of books from the pen of one of its Directors, Craig Robertson….

Off to the Scottish Highlands first with Marjorie…

The Trials of Marjorie Crowe

The Trials of Marjorie Crowe Craig Robertson

Shortlisted for the CWA dagger

Turns out Marjorie is considered somewhat of an outcast in her Scottish village. Some say she’s a witch. When she finds a body in the woods, suspicions falls on her. Then another youngster goes missing. Surely Marjorie must know something?

Atmospheric, gritty and unsettling

Glasgow next…..with the Photographer….got your camera?

The Photographer Craig Robertson

The Photographer

A chilling discovery of photographs hidden under a floorboard leads to murder and more.

You won’t want to visit this side of Glasgow that the book describes in painful detail. However there is one location in the novel picked out for its nice associations and real life charm: Hidden Lane. Even the name sounds….both intriguing and a bit scary if I’m honest!

Staying in Glasgow with this classic: Murderabilia

Everyone has a hobby. Some people collect death. That tagline alone should make you want to read the book.

The first commuter train of the morning slowly rumbles away from platform seven of Queen St station….then the screams start……

Another view of Glasgow – well his Narey and Winter series does for Glasgow what Rankin does for Edinburgh….

Witness the Dead Craig RobertsonWitness the Dead

The underbelly of the city brought out in fine detail! You might want to wash your hands after reading 😉

The Faroe Isles next….
The Last Refuge Craig Robertson

The Last Refuge

“It could have been the definition of the middle of nowhere”

A new direction and setting for Craig but one with the landscape both rugged and wild, not to mention remote that Craig does so well.

Heading up to Bloody Scotland ( or anytime to be fair) you might want to consider visiting the dark corners of Scotland that Craig Robertson has made his own….
