Thriller set in Greece – One of the Girls Lucy Clarke

  • Submitted: 19th May 2022

Head to fictional Aegos in Greece

The setting here is a fictional Greek island. Just as well, as although it sounds amazing for a holiday like the girls in this book beklieve, it soon becomes the island they just want to escape.

I loved The Castaways and have been wanting to read this as soon as I got it. On May 26th, you can take yourself off to Lucy Clarke’s island of  Aegos….

If Lucy Clarke invites you to a Greek island you are going to say yes, right? I mean I remember  the las time I holidayed via one of her books and I ended up on an island as well. That didn’t end well, but it was a heck of a lot of fun. So, I held my breath and then dived in to this one….

The island of Aegos is fictional. I think it had to be given what happens there. A group of friends, a hen party, head to the island to celebrate friend Lexi getting married. It was exciting from the start as the sun beat down, the wine was flowing and the beach lay out in front of me. Now this felt like a  holiday. However, that cloud of foreshadowing and murder was right above me and getting  darker…

This is a  character driven novel and yes, there are a few characters to remember. Not all of them were as interesting as the others which is normal I suppose. However, what was good was the way you never really knew who to trust.  There’s not much I can say more about the plot but just hang back before you make any assumptions. Everyone is withholding something and there are more secrets than you can count.

The ending was a shocker and left me reeling. I enjoyed this one!
