November BookTrail Travel Roundup

  • Submitted: 30th November 2018

There were so many good books out in November that’s it’s hard to decide which ones should be on the November round up list.

But we’ve travelled to some fantastic places with authors this month so here’s a selection of where we’ve been and who we’ve been with…

Books set in New York - Mandy Baggot

BookTrail Travel to New York  – One New York Christmas –  Mandy Baggot

This is a great book to take to New York or to take you to New York as it covers a lot of the city, shows you characters interacting in real places and there’s even  a visit or two to the great New York Central Park Zoo! The story’s very Christmassy of course and perfect for reading beside a cosy fire. November was a cold month so this warmed us up and it is also a perfect December read so even better if you’re not quite in the Christmas spirit yet!

Set in the city that never sleeps so take your walking boots as there’s plenty of city sights!

Alaskan holiday – November booktrails roundup

BookTrail Travel to Alaska -Alaskan Holiday  –  Debbie Macomber

You need to be warm when you head to Alaska and if you take a Debbie Macomber novel you will feel the warmth and the cosyness through each and every page! Even the cover is gorgeous and puts you right at the heart of the cool crisp landscape. In this novel, a chef goes on a short term stay to a log cabin restaurant in the Alaskan wilderness to cook. Well she cooks up a storm in more ways than one! A fun read. And it will make you hungry. So have mince pies beside you when you read.

Set in the Alaskan wilderness so take your warm clothes and your warm heart!

Book set in Derbyshire - Cuckoo- Sophie Draper

BookTrail Travel to Derbyshire – Cuckoo –  Sophie Draper

The title got me with this one. A cuckoo is  a bird who lays its eggs in other birds’ nests. It’s also that annoying bird who pops out of a clock when you’re five and gives you a fright you’ve never quite recovered from. Reading this then, I had no idea what to expect. Frights aplenty and chilling moments abound in this book, a plot woven around dark fairytales and more. And the landscape of the Derbyshire moors is THE perfect landscape for this chilling tale! Wrap up warm as you spend time in the open air and in a remote cottage in this book!

Books set in London - Miss Marley - Vanessa Lafaye

BookTrail Travel to London – Miss Marley – Rebecca Mascull

Aah this came out on November 1st so just made the list, but to be fair it would have made the October list if out earlier. This is the fictional story of a fictional sister of a fictional character and it’s one of the most heartwarming and clever I’ve read in a long while. Set in the Dickensian streets, this really should be on your Christmas lists.

Books set in Florida - Deep Dirty Truth Step Broadribb

BookTrail Travel to Florida  – Deep Dirty Truth –  Step Broadribb

Well we all need some Florida sun during the winter months don’t we? The E book came out in November but the PB follows in January. This is the third in a cracking series about a bounty hunter by an author who trained as bounty hunter. Mind blown. Brilliant plot and fast paced action makes this a classic right now.

If you missed any of these holiday packages, then be sure to book them before Christmas! Book Holidays take you places without you leaving yours!
