New School Year – New Start

Remember this famous line from the film You Got Mail when describing autumn and the Back to School feeling…..

“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”

A great time to enjoy the cosy season and as we all know, book lovers love autumn and the cooler months as this is the time to shine!! On the sofa under a cosy blanket with a new book. What better feeling is there in life?

Well, if you haven’t been able to travel over the summer, this is what The BookTrail is here for! Where do you want to go? Just type in a location and travel from the comfort of your own armchair. For free with this website, or the price of a book if you decide to buy the package holiday between two covers….

There’s a few ways to use this site for literary travel

Destination – pick a real place in the world and then get a list of lots of books set in that place. Search by continent, country, city etc….

Author – Who would you like to travel with as your literary guide? Sadly we can’t offer their services in real life, but take a book, a map and you will see a place through their eyes….

Setting – Different to destination and location – this is more about reading to enjoy your immediate surroundings in a book. This was the way I choose books for extra immersive experiences – do I want to spend time in a castle, or on a beach? What about visiting fictional murder scenes? Choose a book from the list that is curated from your search and fall down a new literary portal.

Title – Sometimes you just want to know where your next read will take you – type in a title and see where you are headed!
