A novel to transport you

A really heart-warming and poignant story set in the most perfect place to have a winter adventure!

There’s loss, cancer and abusive relationships in this novel but also lots of hope and that’s what I got most from the novel. It might read like a holiday movie but it has real depth and feeling to it and I had the best time reading this book. It lingered with me, as did the city of New York, so that tells you that it has touched you in ways you least expected it.

Oh and that was the real highlight for me in this book – the setting of the city of New York at Christmas time. It’s wonderful and you really get a sense that there is magic in the air. The author gets all of this in the novel in spades without detracting from the serious issues and themes and it helps digest and understand the ‘ real life’ parts of the story. Both very nicely sit side by side.

I really want to go to New York at Christmas time now – take this book with me and stand in the spot where that cover picture was taken!
