Fictional Characters to Spend Christmas With
Fictional Characters to Spend Christmas With
Oh imagine spending time not with family you sometimes don’t want to see anyway…..but fictional people you really would love to meet in real life. People you’d invite round your house for a drink, a nice meal and some festive cheer. Or someone you would escape the festivities all together holding their hand….
A short list for a festive BookTrail Table

Estella from Estella’s Revenge
You can’t have Christmas without Dickens can you? And I would love to have Estella there to be the grumpy one who would sit in the corner like your old aunt and really speak the truth about everything. Nothing held back. Think she would be a breath of fresh air in many ways. The Grinch but with a very sharp tongue and a keen eye……Things would definitely be interesting if Estella was there.

Áróra from Black as Death
She’s hardcore is Áróra. She’s Icelandic, went out in the brutal snow on the hunt for a killer and well, being used to the cold and snow she’d know how to hunt and forage food wouldn’t she? Got to have a Icelandic woman at the table. She’d know how to carve the meat and would probably hunt the animal down for you in the first place. Plus, there’s be plenty of games and Icelandic traditions. In Iceland, there’s a lovey Christmas Eve tradition of giving a book as a gift to read so the family can read their new books together as they wait for Santa…

Anyone from The Modern Fairies
Wait until you see the food in this book. The main characters all live in and around Versailles and wear the most gorgeous of dresses and suits. So, they’d be well dressed and would bring some rich, luscious food.
This novel is set in the literary salons where some of our favourite fairytales took shape…so the magical stories would also come with a guest or two from this book….

One of the women from The Yorkshire Pudding Club
Whatever you think, it IS good to have a Yorkshire Pudding with your Xmas dinner and this lot have plenty to go round. They even have a club so you can join that one after the festive period rather than Weight Watchers….

Mellors from Lady Chatterleys Lover
Mellors would certainly bring some spice to the party. But I’m thinking about who would do the festival flower displays? You need someone with green fingers and Mellors would fit the bill. It would also be nice to spend time in his little cottage/hut and escape things if it all gets a bit much back at the house. With Estella and Arora fighting for their place at the top of the tree, anything could happen…..
Who would you invite and why?
