BookTrail Review:
Turns out the mundanity of life can be expressed very colourfully and interestingly in a novel! This short novel is slow and only takes place in a restaurant but there was an air of locked room in it too.
The title in French is ‘ Celle qui fugue’ which translates literally as ‘The one who runs away’ which gives a whole other meaning to the content within. This is all about looking at your life, that of others, comparing yourself, finding out about yourself and realising the danger of sitting still. It’s all very clever and some of it a bit over emphasised in my opinion.
Still, a novel to think about. It takes place in the 6th arrondissement in Paris which is the trendy left bank so make of that what you will.
