The Booktrailer does Harrogate

  • Submitted: 25th July 2017

Harrogate is over for another year and what a festival it was. Panels with the best authors in the business. Debut authors, aspiring authors and everyone who loves crime fiction. So, what was it all about?Meeting lovely bloggers who I’m met on Twitter but not in the real world, meeting authors I’ve read for years but have never met and meeting some of the publicists who send books and trails! I even got to try and solve a murder and play croquet in the garden (the most sporty thing I have ever done)

Cally Taylor wins Award!

Cally Taylor quite deservedly won an award for most unreliable narrator. This was held in the tent in the middle of the lawn and so even if you couldn’t get a place inside, you didn’t really miss out!  2017 Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of The Year was Chris Brookymyre’s Black Widow

Anne Cater and me

The lovely Anne Cater!

More blogger love followed with the amazing Anne Cater and lovely hubby Martin who took this pic on his magical phone. I’m quite impressed with the level of art work on both our tops to be honest. And that Celine Dion/Titanic necklace Anne wore and which I tried to “borrow”

Meeting Jane Harper!

Meeting Jane Harper!

Jane Harper – author of the phenonenal The Dry – well I almost hugged this woman to death. She wrote one of the most memorable novels of the year in my eyes so to say hello and have a chat was a real honour! She’s so lovely and I would love to have hair like hers but will settle for her next cracking novel!…Going on the signed shelf of honour at home.

When Edinburgh meets Stockholm – two of my favourite cities and favourite authors as how much of those cities have I discovered thanks to Rebus and those Swedish bad guys. Look at my little “can’t believe it face”. Haha not often I fangirl but this was one of them.

That’s definitely not all – later in the week there’s a bit of Grantchester and Vera comes to town…
