September book events

Oh September how you spoil us! For those of you living in the North East of England, Edinburgh or Stirling, there are some festivals and literary events NOT to be missed. A quick run down….

And first up is…………….the one and only BLOODY SCOTLAND!!!!

Bloody Scotland’s 10th Anniversary

12 – 14 Bloody Scotland

Takes place in Stirling every year and always a great festival. Celebrating the best of Scottish fiction and fiction of all shapes and sizes. Held in the beautiful Golden Lion hotel and a few other select locations, there really isn’t a more scenic festival. Take your sensible shoes though as it’s a bit hilly getting around.

There are SO MANY great authors going this year and it’s set to be the best year yet. Mick Herron is in the house for starters!!!

Word festival

Bay Tales  -19/20  the Word is Murder Festival

This event is part of The Word’s WRITE Festival which takes place throughout the whole of September.

The following week – head down to sunny South Shields for a festival from the lovely peeps at Bay Tales. Fiona Cummins, Emma Flint and Steph McGovern are just some of the writers appearing at this one day event. The night before, there’s a special edition of Noir at the Bar!

And if THAT is not enough…head back up to Scotland for Women’s Fiction Festival in their new location in Edinburgh!

Women’s Fiction Festival – 26/27

Jenny Colgan and Lucy Mangan are just two of the lovely authors appearing this year along with Emma Cowing and Caroline Lea! Oh and that is just the start!

Iconic romance authors Lucy Vine & Laura Wood are also appearing!!!

This is a lovely festival as it’s all about romance, women writers and the dark stories they can sometimes tell! There’s always surprises and a warm, friendly atmosphere.

So, there you go – there’s your September booked!
