The Best Book of July was actually published in June 2023 but I only read it in July so it’s straddling two months.

I had to have it as book of the month – it could well be my book of the year to be honest.

Why this won July’s Book (Trail) of the Month

It’s all about books and the love of books

It’s got a man in I fell in love with

The setting is one of bookshops and Irish charm in Dublin

Part of it is set in Bronte country and the Bronte sisters play a part

The French bookshop Shakespeare and Co also stars

The plot:

For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.

But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.
