What you need to know before your trail

Davie McCall is not your average henchman. Abused and tormented by his father for fifteen years, he has a hard shell that is tough to break and which has been his only protector since he can remember.

There is another protector  however in the form of Glasgow’s Godfather, Joe ‘the Tailor’ Klein. Joe might be a killer but he doesn’t like drugs or bad language. Violence against women gets him really mad.

When ‘the Tailor’ refuses to be part of Glasgow’s new drug trade, the hits start rolling. It’s every man for himself as the entire criminal underworld turns on itself, and Davie is well and truly caught up in the action.

Or trapped depending on how you look at it.

Travel Guide

Glasgow 1970s

Step back in time to Glasgow of the  1970s – it’s not only the setting and the landscape which will be familiar to many and nostalgic to many more, but the vernacular and the Glasgow phrases that drip from each and every page. Glasgow is the gritty setting where crime and murder seem rampant. Where the underbelly of the city runs deeper than the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Walk down any of the streets in the novel -over Glasgow Green where executions used to take place and where gang warfare seems to have replaced it. Wander down Duke Street and along to Tolbooth where the clock tower still stands overlooking a changing city and if this tower could talk, imagine just what it could tell?

What about the Saltmarket or the Parkhead area of the city close to the football stadium? Glasgow’s past and present mingle with the dodgy goings on of its crime gangs . You can feel the tension in the air as you walk around Blood City. Not a map that would appear in Glasgow’s tourist office but then this is the beauty of travelling via fiction and seeing the sights as it were through the eyes of one of the gangster types.
