What you need to know before your trail

For Rose, every day is a gift. She narrowly survived a life-threatening illness and owes everything to her anonymous donor. Determined to thank him, Rose follows a trail of clues that lead her to the little Cornish fishing village of Falford.

But things become complicated when Rose is drawn into local life, becoming involved in the legendary Falford Regatta and meeting the handsome Morvah brothers – one of whom might just be the man she’s looking for. But which one?

Can Rose find the answer she’s searching for, or will she lose her heart before the summer is over?

Travel Guide

Welcome to Cornwall with Philippa Ashley

The author clearly sets the novel in Cornwall but the town of Falford is an amalgamation of several places. She mentions in her author note that she has played around a bit with settings such as moving Dozmary Pool which is on the Lizard in real life although it’s here in the novel. The Merry Maidens for example are actually in Penwith.

There are some lovely mentions of boats and if you get a chance, the author recommends a man Andy Aston who crewed a boat for her and who also builds wooden boats from his workshop in Gweek.

Do take a boat journey with Bowman Yacht charters as the author did!
