What you need to know before your trail

Finn and Kaz are about to meet for the first time…

Ten-year-old Finn, a quirky, sensitive boy who talks a lot and only eats at cafes with a 5-star hygiene rating, is having a tough time at school and home. Outspoken Kaz, 59, who has an acerbic sense of humour and a heart of gold, is working at the café when Finn and his mum come in.
They don’t know it yet, but the second time they meet will be a moment which changes both of their lives forever . . .

Travel Guide

Halifax and serious issues in this Linda Green novel

Locations are not a key feature of the book although it is clearly set in Halifax. Characters and their issues are the real centre piece of the novel with their day to day struggles of living in a modern day city. This could be a story in any city or town and probably is sadly.

There are issues in the novel such as mental health and bullying in particular. You also get to know about the injustice of the benefits system in the UK and how people deal with these struggles on a daily basis.
