What you need to know before your trail

It’s a spot of magic that Harry Potter even got to the age of 13 when you think about it. He’s already survived the murderous attacks of the feared Dark Lord on more than one occasion.
Back at Hogwarts for his third year, life is not going to be easy. Harry loves playing Quidditch and hopes to concentrate on the game this year but these hopes are dashed when a maniacal mass-murderer escapes from Azkaban, pursued by the soul-sucking Dementors who guard the prison.
Is Hogwarts the safe have he hopes it to be?

Travel Guide

Scotland

Scotland really came into its own in this film as many scenes were shot in and round craggy, cloudy and misty Scotland. The Fort William and Glencoe areas were the main film sites and you can even ride the Hogwarts express on a real life train in the Fort William and Mallaig area. You have not experienced the joy and sights, sounds and smells of a real life steam train until you’ve been on this one. A must do for Harry Potter fans everywhere, young and not so young.

Glenfinnan Viaduct

The iconic bridge in the movie where the  Hogwarts express travels over is the real-life Glenfinnan Viaduct. This  bridge  is also where  in The Goblet of Fire, the Dementors stall the train and torture Harry.

Loch Shiel near Fort William appeared  inThe Chamber of Secrets and was used again when the Dementor boarded the train in The Prisoner of Azkaban.
You really have to come to Scotland to experience the landscape and views that Harry would have seen from the train as he returns to the school that is to make his life so different to the one he thought he was destined for.
