Well this isn’t gritty London that Simon usually likes! There are no real locations as such as they are all vague – but it is most definitely in the Scottish Highlands.

The landscape in the novel gives off a very dark ambiance. This location offers dense woodland, a place that scares people and can get them lost and disorientated. Think Simon likes to strip his characters of modern safety nets like stable phone reception and quick police access. Now where would be the fun in having them?

Simon K is also a very keen hiker and explores forests and woodlands on his many wanders. Plot walks perhaps or finding places to hide dead bodies haha.
