A worldwide adventure with a gorilla
From a dark Congolese forest, a gorilla is born and from that moment on, the adventure begins. From Congo around the world on a boat, sailing around Africa all the way to Istanbul and from there through the Dardanelles, across the Indian Ocean, through the Panama Canal and beyond….all the way to Borneo…and then…
The locations are brilliantly evoked and are a bit vague in the map so as not to give the plot away. This gorilla travels and has some adventures. that’s for sure. There’s points of danger in the jungles as well as on the open seas. There’s some nice places the characters get to visit in Istanbul but there is also someone trying to rob the rich here, so even the palace isn’t safe.
This is not a safe world for travellers and those who sail boats around the world as part of the trade routes. The fate of monkeys and gorillas in the wild is not a happy one as we see in the Congo, Borneo and Batavia….
