But everyone has imperfections, as Marnie comes to realise, and that is not such a bad thing – after all, your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you.

Sadly fictional but the author heard about a village which was up for sale in a newspaper article and that village was West Heslerton so this is on the map as the place to be!

There’s a lot to love about books of Milly Johnson. This one isn’t set in a real place but it’s one of the most realistic ones in fiction and one of the nicest and cosiest too. It’s definitely a place I’d want to go for real. Meet the characters, spend a bit of time with them all and move in with Herv…wait did I say that for real? It’s not often you find a Norwegian hunk in a Yorkshire village is it? The author mentions he’s based on a real life actor by the name of Lasse Matberg. Well I had a quick look purely for research purposes and yup – just as expected although with a bit shorter hair!

Anyway I digress, the novel is firmly set in Yorkshire with the warmth and wit you’d expect from both the area and the author in question.
Marnie is a great character – left a village, her journey throughout the book is a good and interesting one. It’s great to go on it with her. Just goes to show what a little hard work, luck and determination can do. You’ll be cheering Marnie on, ups and downs, high and lows, laughs and tears.
