There are overtones of a wife beater, police investigating a possible Paedophile ring in Cambridge and even the names of those ‘ on the list’ is chillingly drawn: The Matchmaker, The Facilitator, The Treasurer, The Distributor and The Provider.
The novel captures the flair and flavour of the city, its cultural diversity and the problems that any inner city may face.Not the Bradford you’d want to visit for real, but in the hands of Liz Mistry, it’s a fascinating place to be.
There are mentions of Cambridge, Poland and others but the main setting is Bradford.
