What you need to know before your trail

Ginger isn’t spending her 30th the way she would have planned. Tonight might be the first night of the rest of her life – or a total disaster.

Sam is finally pregnant after years of trying. When her waters break on the morning of her 40th birthday, she panics: forget labour, how is she going to be a mother?

Callie is celebrating her 50th at a big party in her Dublin home. Then a knock at the door mid-party turns her perfect life upside down . . .

Travel Guide

Dublin

The novel is set in Dublin although it’s merely a backdrop location wise as few places are mentioned by name. What it does give is a sense of the Irish spirit, sense of humour and pride. It’s clearly an Irish novel and the author herself was raised in Dublin so the Irish charm is infused in the story of the women.

There are the perfect places to visit in the city if you are yourself on a girl’s night out or a girly holiday however although not the prison where one of the characters later visits! Try the Half Penny Bridge and the array of shops in the city centre including the famous Grafton Street.

Ballyglen sounds nice but sadly is fictional. One of the characters hails from here. Probably in Wexford since the former reporter from there seems to know the place.
