What you need to know before your trail

Isla is not having a happy time of things at the moment. No she is not.Where once she was head stylist at a salon in Edinburgh, she’s often dreamed of stabbing the scissors in the back of her cut-throat colleagues, and when things get that bad, it’s time to put the scissors down and go.

So why not travel to nice remote island in Scotland if the chance arrises? She gets a tip of that there is a salon looking for someone and so off she goes. Well, if she’s expecting to get a warm welcome on this windy Scottish isle, she might have to wait a bit for the salon is not the chic salon she is used to and one stylist in particular  is not happy to see a newcomer.

She is not the only one on the island to be thinking about her situation and future. Finn, who does enjoy a bike ride or seven around the island, is wondering if he will ever get to stop still and settle down. Maybe if he stops peddling but that’s another story.

Wildflower Bay is full of wild characters and a blossoming romance or two!

Travel Guide

Auchenmor

This little island has some big secrets…

And the biggest secret of all is that as Rachel Lucas herself explains in the author note, that she actually took a very real story – that of Edmund Kean and Woodend house and altering it for her own ends. Part of that was creating the fictional isle of Auchenmor which is actually inspired by Bute. And we’re pleased it is as you can certainly visit Bute with this novel and discover both it and Auchenmor yourself!

“Everything on the island looked as it should.  Fishing boats bobbed out on the water . Little rowing boats were moored by the edge of the pretty harbour”

The novel is also largely inspired by the Mount Stuart Estate and the large gothic house is definitely one to visit when you’re there booktrailing!
