What you need to know before your trail

A security van heist goes disastrously wrong and three women are left widowed.

When Dolly Rawlins discovers her gang boss husband’s plans for the failed hijack, an idea starts to form . . .

Could she and the other wives finish the job their husbands started?

As the women rehearse the raid, it becomes clear that someone else must have been involved.

But only three bodies were found in the wreckage.

Who was the fourth man?

And where is he now?

Travel Guide

London

This is the London seen through the eyes of gangsters, their wives and the police trying to track them down. No matter that a recent accident and explosion seems to have eliminated three of them. But it’s the fourth one, the one that seems to have got away that is most of interest.

The finer parts of the city such as Regent’s Park and the Dorchester hotel are seen through the criminally minded eyes of the widows and a very interesting view it is indeed! Another place of wealth and money – Sloane street is the setting for a safety deposit box gained from less salubrious sources than most!

The explosion at the start of the novel and the event which sets of the spiral of the story is the Strand underpass, a tunnel which follows the subterranean route of the disused Kingsway tram tunnel built in Edwardian times. It was opened on January 21, 1964, some seven years after the original Kingsway Tramway Subway had closed.  Signs of the disused Kingsway Tramway Subway are still evident here.
