2000s, WW2: twelve short stories drawing on the island’s history, myths and legends
The tiny Channel Island of Herm measures one and a half miles long by half a mile wide. This book comprises twelve short stories drawing on the island’s history, myths and legends – each evocative of an island location. The eclectic mix includes a ghost story, an adventure story, a human-interest story, a comic story and much more.
Herm Island
Herm is one of the Channel Islands and part of the Parish of St Peter Port in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. It is 2,183 m long and under 873 metres wide; oriented north–south, with several stretches of sand along its northern coast.
Between mid-March and July, a vast number of puffins flock to this and the other Islands to breed.
Herm offers a true view of Island life – it has no cars.
