A real life story of a boy in a Kenyan refugee camp

This is  a true life story, set in a Kenyan refugee camp and told from the perspective of a young Omar Mohamed, who is  one of the co-creators of this book. After the death of their father, Omar and his brother Hassan spend much of their childhood in the camp in Kenya. A woman named Fatuma taken them under her wing as they don’t know where their mother is.

Dadaab is a semi-arid town and the site of a UNHCR base. As of 13 May 2019,it’s the third-largest such complex in the world

The story follows Omar as he starts school and tries to resettle in a new country. Life in a refugee camp is strange, unsettling and uncertain but it’s practically all he has ever known.

This is what life on a camp is like, in the words of a young boy.
