What you need to know before your trail

The Vanishing of Katharina Linden follows a misfit teenager as she attempts to unravel the mystery of several strange disappearances in the small town of Bad Münstereifel. The Vanishing of Katharina Linden bridges the world of the traditional Grimm fairytale with the darker world of Angela Carter’s adult fairytales.

On the day Katharina Linden disappears, Pia is the last person to see her. Terror is spreading through the town. How could a ten-year-old girl vanish in a place where everybody knows everybody else?

Pia is determined to find out what happened to Katharina.

But then the next girl disappears. . .

Travel Guide

Bad Muenstereifel

Bad Münstereifel is a historical spa town in the district of Euskirchen, Germany, with about 17,000 inhabitants, situated in the far south of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia
“ I remember my hometown as a place with a powerful sense of community which was sometimes comforting and sometimes stifling. The passing of seasons was marked by festivals that the whole town attended.”
This is an exploration of the history of the village of Bad Munstereifel, through folk tales and gossip.

As   admits, the small towns in Germany have raised gossip to an art form. Three’s many things to gossip about as well. When children go missing, parents warn them to stay inside and the fear is that someone they know might be responsible.

In real life, Bad Muenstereifel is a nice place and great for a wander!
