Kit Finn meets handsome sculptor Matt Healy on a business trip and the two share a night of passion. They arrange a second date, but when Kit arrives at Matt’s apartment she is greeted by a stranger claiming he is the real Matt and that his identity was stolen.

Realising she has been duped Kit decides to put the encounter behind her. Shortly after, the police ask her to identify a man killed in a hit and run, carrying only her business card, and she is shocked to find the dead man is the person she knows as the genuine Matt Healy.

Kit fears she has become unintentionally embroiled in a sinister web of deceit. With no real evidence to take to police, Kit resolves to unravel the mystery herself. But can she do so before more lives, including her own, are put in danger?

Travel Guide

Florida

Islamorada is where the nightmare begins with a one night stand leading to so much more, although not in the way Kit hopes for!

This is the world of luscious white sands, sand as white as snow, the main road described as a kind of a “honky tonk strip”. Kit choses to vacation here as she had come to the Florida kes as a child and  is planning to decorate her new Jersey Shore cottage in this sunny relaxed vibe. The setting is described as care free and that’s exactly how Kit feels as that’s the only thing that would explain what happens when she decides to sleep with Kit whom she has just met.

Manhattan is the city they both live, where life is more orderly and where Kit would never have thought to do something so reckless. She works in Interior design company in the big apple and for her, it’s rotten to the core as this is where her holiday nightmare comes back to bite her. In both places, locations are vague rather than exact but the sense of Florida freedom to New York Neurotic is what helps carry the plot.
