Phil Benson lives with his Grandfather near a railway viaduct in Deptford London. Railways have been in the family for years and several generations of men have worked for the railways in some form or another . Phil’s brilliant ancestor, Ebenezer Benson, was a pioneer railway engineer  for example but the final years of his life are still a bit of a mystery. Phil is keen to discover Ebenezer’s secrets. With his friend, Andy Smith, he sets out to do exactly that.
