What you need to know before your trail

Our city. Our secret. Our rules.

Snatched from his bed in the middle of the night, Ollie Turner is thrust into a world of danger and excitement.

Below the streets of London he discovers a secret city: a network of tunnels that lead him to the Haven, a sanctuary for kids run by kids, and the headquarters of an organisation that fights for justice everywhere.

Soon Ollie is caught up in the Haven’s battle: a quest to stop ‘Mad Maddy’ Sikes from destroying the city. But time is running out for Ollie and his new friends. Will they manage to stop Sikes before it is too late? And who is the traitor in their midst?

Travel Guide

London

The entire book is set underground so not really any places to mention on the map! Having said that there are certain large buildings such as St Paul’s, The Tower of London and Bank of England to allow the underground members of The Haven to find their way around.

The HQ seems to be around the area of The Gherkin. It does look like a marker of something doesn’t it? Now you know what lies beneath..

There are in fact tunnels underneath the city that you can actually access in real life. You can walk beneath the Thames at Greenwich, Woolwich or Rotherhithe, and drive through at Blackwall. But there’s also a tunnel beneath the Thames Barrier.

Then there’s the one at Pall Mall –

Berry Brothers and Rudd on St James’s Street has very large basement which has purveyed fine wine’s to London’s nobility for centuries. There used to be a Tudor tennis court here apparently. There is also a bricked up tunnel here which used to run between Pall Mall and St James’s Palace. Legend has it that Charles II would use the tunnel to visit a high-class brothel that formerly occupied the site and avoid being seen of course.
