What you need to know before your trail

Cecilia Wilborg has the perfect life. A handsome husband, two beautiful daughters and a large house in the picture-postcard town of Sandefjord.

But then Tobias enters her life. He is a small, friendless eight-year-old. Someone has forgotten to pick him up from the swimming baths. Cecilia is there collecting her children. She is asked to drive him home. Except his home is empty, his house is empty. And Tobias is not speaking.

And he threatens to bring Cecilia’s world crashing down.

Travel Guide

BookTrail Travel to Sandefjord

A pretty seaside town known for its rich Viking history and in this story is a town of two halves – those who have (everything) and those who have little or nothing at all. This is usually a town where there is no or little crime, where people live in nice houses, drive nice cars and live like Cecilia in a rich privileged position.

The city is known for its rich Viking history and the prosperous whaling industry and so Sandefjord is the richest city in Norway. Very good as far as Cecelia is concerned. She is excessively proud of what she has accumulated, what her husband has given her and what others think of her.

The town has a dark side in this novel however just as the background of real life Sandefjord is also known as the Viking- or Whaling “Capital” of Norway. The 9th century Gokstad Ship was discovered where Goktand Mound is now – another part of history just under the surface.

Cecelia will also love the fact that it’s still a very wealthy town, popular for spa resorts and some of the most expensive beach properties in the country.

However, behind the facade, Sandefjord in the book also offers another way of life…

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

A gripping thriller which really showcased a town of two sides, a facade of a woman, an image and an ideal when stripped away was a very dark picture indeed.
