Travel to Bali and BookTrail a cultural event –  Galungan festival

The festival marks the victory of dharma (order) over adharma (disorder). It is celebrated by Balinese Hindus who believe that during these ten days of prayers, offerings, and joyful fasting, their revered ancestors return to their former homes to be entertained and welcomed.

The last day of the celebration is Kuningan, when they return. The date is calculated according to the 210-day Balinese calendar.  The most obvious sign of the celebrations are the penjor – bamboo poles with offerings suspended at the end.
