For generations, no second-born daughter in the Fontana family has married. Lucy desperately wants to find love, but for her cousin Emilia, their family curse is a blessing in disguise.

But then their Great Aunt Poppy declares she’ll reunite with her long-lost love on her eightieth birthday – and break the curse once and for all.

Travel Guide

Travel to One Italian Summer BookTrail style

As we go from New York to Florence, Venice and of course Ravello

Florence, Venice, Ravello

The story starts in Trespiano and ends in Ravello but before that, there’s quite the journey around two of the prettiest cities in Italy, if not the world.  What a place to hold such an iconic meeting – the cathedral in Ravello really is something!

Florence

The city is evoked well and Poppy has a job at the elusive Uffizi Gallery which is worth a visit. There’s also a lovely visit over to Fiesole which is a brilliant vantage point over Florence itself.

Venice

Venice is renowned for its canals and narrow twisty streets where Poppy often gets lost. There’s a lovely cafe/bakery where Poppy goes and where actually sounds lovely so it’s great to hear that it’s real!

Berlin and the Berlin Wall also feature as part of  a story but it’s a fleeting visit. Adds to the history and the intrigue though!
