What you need to know before your trail

Baton Rouge Lousiana

Lindy Simpson cycles home from school one day, straight into a trap. A wire has been strung between lampposts blocking her way. She is then raped just yards from her front door. What once was a small friendly community becomes one of suspicion and mistrust as  no one sees athing ad the perpertaror gets away.

Her fourteen year old neighbour has secretly love Lindy for as long as he can remember and so he’s heartbroken when she is attacked. He decides that Lindy needs justice and that he is the one to get it for her. But as he searches and digs deep into the community, he finds out a lot more than he bargained for.

Woodland Hills has much to hide.

Travel Guide

Piney Creek Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Whilst the community of Woodland Hills might be fictional, the setting is one of small town American in the deep south. Where darkness and deception lie behind the white picket fences and neatly trimmed gardens.

Childhood days are at first spent having barbecues, ice creams and bicycle rides. Children running through hosepipe showers, laughter and innocence filling the air.

“Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a hot place

Even the fall of night offer no comfort. There are no breezes sweeping off the dark servitudes and marshes, no cooling rains”

However these white picket fences, homely comforts and familiarity, this suburban world is rotten to its very core.
This is where the children, teenagers of that time have their innocence shattered and where one boy starts his journey into adulthood via his determination to seek justice for his friend and childhood crush.

From the 1980s, to the time where memories were good and where a boy fell in love with a girl. School days filled with anguish, making new friends, trying to be the popular kid at school, arguing with your parents, challenging your teachers. And a project about space really brought to the fore with the horrendous Challenger disaster.

The neighbourhood is torn apart that day. Many are suspects in the crime and as the curtains twitch, truths are revealed.
