Travel Guide

The Dordogne

Castillac

Castillac Molly admits is not exactly the south of France, but it’s south-ish

Castillac was not a village that attracted many tourist or expats, and the upper layer of Castillac society was not aristocratic or even especially rich but even so it had a level of wealth beyond what Sabrina could comprehend.

Molly moved here at the end of one summer and had wanted a fresh start in a  new place. What she imagined was a life of gardening and fabulous food, running a gite, and wandering around the village but that’s not what had turned out. However on the whole, Castillac was better than she  had dreamed of as the new friends she’d made, her new surroundings and the beauty of the village itself never failed to impress her.

And in this novel, it’s snowing and there’s a pretty blanket of white, snow making it take on a rather Christmassy and picture postcard feel.
