Noank, Connecticut: A small maritime village close to New London – this really inspired the story’s tight-knit fishing community.
Overall, the Connecticut Coastline and Long Island Sound – This is the area which inspired the novel as its where they work on the boats here and this is also where the central community property dispute takes place.
