Oviedo
You really couldn’t get any different a location to New York than Oviedo. New York is where our main character leaves and Oviedo the city she returns to – the place she was born.
Oviedo sits between the Cantabrian Mountains and the Bay of Biscay. It’s the capital of Asturias known for its medieval old town. There is so much history here but no 112 year old still living as far as anyone knows.
The city is very well evoked in the novel and it’s clear the author cares about it and has included a small map at the start of the story.
