What you need to know before your trail

Pastor Tommy Bosco runs a Winnipeg skid row mission that caters to ex-criminals and ex-addicts trying to make a better life. Sometimes that better life means leaving the city — and the good and bad guys — completely behind. A former smuggler, Bosco can make anyone disappear, faking deaths and extracting people across the Canada-U.S. border. But then his ex shows up, fresh from the murder of a biker-gang boss. She’s got plenty of baggage, including the biker’s cryptic ledger that everyone in Winnipeg’s underworld wants to get their hands on. Bosco finds himself a fugitive at the center of a conspiracy that has him staying far away from the cops, the hired hitmen, and even his dear old dad. Navigating through a harsh Prairie winter, Bosco must help his ex escape without having to make an escape himself.

Travel Guide

Winnipeg

Winnipeg is at the heart of the Canadian Prairies and during the cold months it’s also very hot but in a very different kind of way. The underbelly of the city is still at large and the Heaven’s Rejects, the most notorious biker-gang in town in full throttle.

The Heaven’s Rejexts Motorcycle Club have a saying:
“First we kill you. Then we go to work on you”
There’s help for the homeless though and those who want to escape – well not quite as the homeless shelter here run by Pastor Tommy Bosco. Someone comes for his help, and his view of the city and its dark, mean streets is about to come to the fore.
The police are after someone Bosco wants to hide so the Winnipeg police service are going to have their work cut out.
The city is at mercy for who can ensure that the Clean Sweep of the city is carried out in the way that they decide.
There are also very Canadian specific and unique sayings in the novel too:

The latest assignment for Noonan had gone more sideways than an Electra Glide on black ice.”

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

A cracking first novel. In fact I thought it was a later one in a series as it reads as a very confident and smack in your face kind of read. Biker gangs, the Canadian prairies and a cat and mouse game across the plains between the police, gangs and  a few more interested parties besides!
There’s LOTS of locations here for any Booktrail fan and you can easily place the novel especially if you’ve been there. I’ve only stopped for a short time in Winnipeg but remembered certain parts as I read which really made this even more gripping as a thriller. Not that it needs it, it’s pretty gripping without it. Winnipeg is a unique and not much covered location for this kind of book and it really works! Lone highways, empty towns, houses hidden on side streets, cafes at cross sections, and the humour and way of life that only the Prairies can offer.
Really enjoyed the Canadian humour and sayings and getting stuck into something most people are never going to experience n real life thank goodness. Sign me up for the Clean Sweep gang as it were. Revving up and ready to go.
