2000s: Can a girl really find a Poldark lookalike in Cornwall?

What you need to know before your trail

Kate Golightly needs to move forward and what better way to do that then with a trip to the Cornish coast with best friend and boss, Izzy.

Well there’s an added extra pressure as she’s accepted a wedding invite to a girl who was Queen Bee when at school and now she’s got to bring that hunky boyfriend along that she’s invented. Only she hasn’t got one really but thinks that maybe she’ll find a Poldark lookalike.

No pressure there then. Only the closest she’s ever got to a Poldark looking man is Aidan Turner who plays Poldark on TV. She does love watching that box set but needs to get out into the real world.

How on earth is a visit to Cornwall going to be the relaxing break she’s hoped for and is her life not going to get more complicated than ever now?

Travel Guide

Cornwall

Many people travel to Cornwall in order to glimpse a bit of Poldark action as it were and if you’re anything like Kate, then who can blame you? There is one beach in particular where you might well imagine a certain Cornish gent bathing in the sea – Gunwalloe-church-cove-beach

The scenery in Cornwall is rather nice….

“Taut bare chest boasting a natural-looking six-pack. Muscular arms wielding a scythe. Raven curls rippling in the breeze.

Smoldering expression tense as the grass-cutting implement is raised in the air. The hint of manly musky perspiration. All this set against rugged Cornish countryside”

In this fictional Cornwall village, Kate and Izzy find a place to stay in a holiday park called White Peaks. And it’s a lovely peaceful place – well it would be if it wasn’t so shabby and in need of a little TLC itself. KAte finds that she is keen to try and find a way of rescuing the park but who or what is she really rescuing?

Cue a nice little holiday in sunny Cornwall, a few drinks on the beach and the sun in your hair and hope in your heart. All whilst having a drink at the cafe called Donuts and Daiquiris.
