Beyond Evil

Why a Booktrail?

2002: The real life horrific murders of two young school girls in Soham

  • ISBN: 978-1844541423
  • Genre: Crime, Non-Fiction

What you need to know before your trail

The horrific murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman shocked and sickened the nation. The man found guilty of their murders is now one of the most reviled men in the country. As if his crime was not dreadful enough, he has recently admitted that he lied under oath about the circumstances of one of the murders.

This in-depth book is written by investigative journalist Nathan Yates, who witnessed the murder hunt first-hand and even interviewed Huntley and former girlfriend Maxine Carr. Yates also has an exclusive source for contact with Ian Huntley and will have further revelations about how far Huntley has lied about what happened that tragic day.

Travel Guide

Soham

This is of course not intended as a booktrail but of an indication how evil can permeate even the most sedate and picturesque village. Two girls, best friends, shopping for sweets had their futures cruelly taken away by a horrific human being. Families left distraught and in constant turmoil.

The house where Huntley killed the girls has quite rightly been demolished. Soham is a lovely little village, not far from Ely and Cambridge and the countryside around it is some of the nicest and flatest in the country. Farming country and idyllic places to play and walk.
