This is the main setting for the story which delves into the painful subject of the Chinese acquisition of Australian land. It’s a game to many and some play and get killed for a wrong move.
This is also the city of spoiled rich kids and cyber dragons. A city which we are told grew out of the Opium Wars which gives you a clue as to some of the city’s darkside now.
Dinner invitations at Zhongsan Park and the glistening lights of the city centre provide the light sparkle. But lights cause shadows…

The city where Cato works normally. It’s a bustling port city known for its maritime history and Victorian architecture. It might be a nice place to live and work normally but it has a dark history with remnants from Australia’s days as a British penal colony.
On a historical and interesting note, you can visit Fremantle Prison, which housed convicts from the 1850s to 1991.
