What you need to know before your trail

Annie Trebarwith is happily settled in Salt Bay with her beloved great-aunt Alice and gorgeous boyfriend Josh Pasco. Snow is in the air, and Christmas is just around the corner.

But when the father she’s never met, aging rock god Barry, turns up with the half-sister Annie didn’t know existed, life suddenly gets complicated. Barry and Storm are soon clashing with the entire village, and their antics are even driving a wedge between Annie and Josh.

Can Annie prevent her new family ruining the festivities and repair things with Josh in time for a cosy Christmas? Or will their relationship end up as frosty as the Salt Bay air?

Travel Guide

Salt Bay – Cornwall

The village is fictional sadly but is located in the south-west of Cornwall. The setting is also placed nicely as the area really does have a history of choral singing and imagine singing on the cliffs with the rugged sea below and the wind in your hair and then heading to find a nice Cornish cafe and a Cornish pie or two.

Cornwall is definitely the exact opposite location to London – warm, welcoming and very quiet and rural compared to the big smoke. Where else but Cornwall really fits the bill in the same way?

Booktrailer Review

Susan: @thebooktrailer

How I only wish Salt Bay was real. It certainly feels very real and rugged. Cornwall is beautiful at any time of year but at Christmas it seems all the more magical somehow. Annie Trebarwith is happily settled in Salt Bay and snow is in the air. This is a book to sit down with with a pre Christmas mince pice and a smile on your face. When her rock god father Barry turns up, all hell breaks loose and there are some very funny shenanigans at work especially when another unexpected visitor turns up. The story is full of Christmas Cornwall magic but at its heart is a fine story about family, heart and realising the real meaning of family at Christmas. It’ll warm the Cornish cockles of your heart without you having to sit in front of a roasting fire. Many will recognise the family dynamics and even if you’re in a gorgeous country village, some problems and niggles seem to follow you everywhere. A warm and fun novel perfect for Christmas and all the emotions the holidays entail.
