The Appalachian Trail in Maine USA
The trail is very popular in real life and it is very well described and evoked in the book. Some of the most iconic parts of the trail are highlighted such as the Hundred Mile Wilderness and The Barren Ledges. It gives you a really good idea of what it would be like to attempt such a trail – the heat, the walking for miles, the rough landscape but also the amazing views.
Well, murder too in this case 😉
