Her parents, grandparents, and almost every word, tool, and tradition of her homeland conveyed one conviction: without water, there is no life; without water, there is no civilization. La Mancha
La Mancha is a vast, arid natural region in central Spain. It covers portions of Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Toledo.
A literary hotspot as it’s also the home of Miguel de Cervantes’ literary hero Don Quixote.
The weather really does make the landscape and culture what it is: the area is famous for windmills, extensive vineyards (the world’s largest wine region), saffron production, and Manchego cheese.
