Welland Viaduct/Harringworth Viaduct 

This viaduct is the main focus of the story and what a place to have set the scene of a crime novel!

The viaduct is 1.166 km long and has 82 arches, each with a (12 m span. It is the longest viaduct across a valley in the United Kingdom. A total of 30 million bricks were used in the viaduct’s construction. and it was finished in 1878.

Not surprisingly, it has since become a Grade II listed building.
