Travel Guide

Brighton

Brighton in the 1930s seems to be the city of style, ornate theatres and a place to start over.

“The dreams she had initially held when she came to Brighton , to be part of the rich and fortunate crowd, had all stemmed from her mother.”

Laura attends the pavilion to see shows and the grand old pavilion is the place to both watch and perform. It’s was as grand then as it is now.

She thinks Brighton might be too small for the likes of Charles however though as he seems to know everyone.

Corfu

Effrosyni says that she drew heavily from her experiences as a youngster to write this novel. She holidayed in her grandparents’ house in the seaside village of Moraitika, Corfu. The book is a work of fiction but it’s peppered with autobiographical elements.
