Most of the novel takes place here but the start of the novel takes place in a small town in Delaware (fictional) where Polly and Adam meet in the restaurant, she as a waitress, and he works in the kitchen. They both have many secrets….
The story takes place in 1990s Baltimore so songs, pay phones, calling cards and more are dotted throughout to give a real flavour of the time and place!
