Oakham
The town of Oakham is nicely evoked in the novel as many sites in and around it are mentioned or in the story. The railway station and the tunnel is the main focus as this is a crime scene in the book. However, in real life, take the journey as you go past the Rutland Lake and head into the next town. The village of Manton is mentioned in the novel as being unique for being a place where the trainline goes underneath. There are some really interesting railway facts here!
