The Hambleton Peninsula
The Hambleton Peninsula is a narrow strip of land extending into Rutland Water
It was formed when the Gwash Valley was dammed in 1975, creating the reservoir and submerging the lower hamlets of Nether and Middle Hambleton, but the village of Upper Hambleton was preserved on the high ground, making it a prominent feature within the water.
