No matter what, it’ll make a nice break from the murder and mayhem that has been plaguing their beautiful Cotswolds village. But Sophie and Hector are barely across the border on the way to Inverness before a sinister encounter leaves them shaken.
Then comes a series of mishaps that leave poor Hector a little worse for wear. Is someone after Hector? Why is he certain the attacks are just accidents? Sophie is determined to find out.

The author is married to a Scot and says in her author note that this is a thank you to him for introducing her to the wonders of the Scottish Highlands. This is a book borne out of love for Scotland and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
Many of the tourist locations in the novel are ficitonal BUT they are based on or at least inspired by the Highland Folk Museum, Leakey’s bookshop, Gretna Green and of course Loch Ness and its monster.
