Andy is struggling with life. His wife Lindsay has recently died and he has been left to care for their two year old daughter. To say that he has to readjust to life is an understatement. Luckily Lindsay kind of prepared for this eventuality as she managed to put together a plan of action to be implemented once she’d died. Andy may think he’s hallucinating when he sees emails and texts from beyond the grave, but they are real and very important messages from Lindsay that are to help him adjust to his new life and possibly find love again along the way.

Edinburgh – a city with love in its midst – from the wind blowing your hair on Calton Hill, to the romantic surroundings of the medieval castle, there are some romantic moments to be had in one of the most romantic cities in Scotland.
The dating scene in Edinburgh is as tricky and challenging as in any other city and from the viewpoint of a man, a Scottish man with pride in his hair and confusion and grief in his heart, this is as rocky a landscape as the rugged hills the city is built on.
The Scots are funny though and there are many laugh out loud moments as Andy navigates the pitfalls of dating again. Coupled with his heartwarming moments of caring for his daughter, this is a man all out at sea with little more than a paddle. But Scots are hardy folk and he has grit and determination in bucketloads.
Andy’s life is a series of stumbles -both on the cobble stones of Edinburgh’s old town and in his day to day life. The situations he gets himself into! Getting advice from a book entitled ‘Men like Women and Women like Shoes’ may not be the best guide to life after all.
